I went through a poll found on aol
Even though this is the 10 worst brands for reliabilty, I would think that most are some of the best cars made.
The results that I saw looked like some of you guys had been there or maybe Porsche really makes the best unreliable cars out there/
Audi
Good 41%
Fair 26%
Excel 22%
Poor 11%
Infiniti

All have about the same # of responses @ ~14000 except for Audi who had twice that of every one else @ ~24000 b/c it was listed first.
I just want to know who the 850 people who think Porsche makes poor cars are? _________________ 1987 924S Guards Red

most likely suckers who have spent their lives savings on a 20 year old 911 in order to finally own a Porsche, and then finding out about maintainence costs.

The more you pay for a car, the less reliable it is. _________________ 1987 951 - M193 Version for Japan |

i wouldnt exactly say that, you can pay a lot of money for a very reliable car, or you can pay a lot of money for a very unreliable car. the average consumer is an idiot who is told what they want. the average consumer's first instinct is to buy. the one's who do their research and actually know what is going on with a car---i like to think people like us---are much better off.
my g/f's father told me something once: people become mechanics to cheat uninformed/ignorant people out of their money.
no offense to any mechanics out there. but i think this quote sums up a lot of the average consumer.

wooooaaaa!
how many generalisations can we throw around?
all 924NA owners are paranoid neurotics that won't buy a REAL porsche like a 944 cos they're scared about the timing belt breaking... _________________ 1983 - 924 (185K miles) - not mint

im not saying that, im saying that people who research and know how to do things take much in stride. if the timing belt breaks on an expensive car, we know it always because of the manufacturer, some times we can be the ones who mess up. if people buy a crappy car, cant it be because the manufacturer/seller was smarter than the buyer? _________________ '81 924 n/a |

an expensive timing belt isn't anything uncommon. My sister's 2000ish Chrysler Minivan was $800 or so to replace it. _________________ 1987 924S Guards Red
