Heavy clutch is good, whats the manual steering though?

I find when driving fast the heavy clutch is much more precise and nicer to shift...since you have more pressure at the pedal, when lifting the pedal there is more precision. A lighter clutch is better for stop light racing, but when driving fast there is no precision.

The only thing I notice though, is the manual steering. It's not all that stiff when going fast...but it's super stiff when going about 20MPH. It feels like power steering above about 40MPH (loose), it's soft. Is there any way to tighten this up or adjust it? I'd rather have it real stiff at higher speed, to feel safer, but it feels real soft.

For example: the steering seems to be triple dosed on viagra in a parking lot, but as soon as you take it to the freeway it goes back to an old aged man.

That is manual steering for you.
Hey try a manual 944 for a week with 215/16/15 tires and then go back to a 924 with 185/70/14s on the front. Wow what a difference. Did not think the 944 was that tough until I went back to the 924 and felt like it had power assist! Ha ha

Tires again can make a difference here. Make sure you inspect all the steering components to make sure nothing is worn just to make sure... but I think it sounds exactly right.

Yes, tires can make a huge impact, especially if you're running larger than stock sizes. Also check your alignment; too much caster can result in the steering feeling heavier. I run max caster possible in my racecar though, since I never go that slow and it gives better steering feel and feedback at speed (direct tradeoff between steering feel and force feedback). The whole suspension got real dead-feeling after installing spherical bearings, and I didn't like it.

Mines ok..Ilike the turning radias pretty sharp can turn on almost any street I can.
thats nice to be able to do just turn from curb to curb.

My steering is very stiff at slow speeds and perfect at most every other speed. Wish I could fit a larger steering wheel, but then I wouldn't fit. Not enough mechanical advantage I guess. I think the Rabitt has the same front end with a different stop to stop ratio. I wonder how they feel at slow speeds. My steering is kinda annoying in tight spots.

I've actually taken out a couple of body panels parking my 931 late at night when I was really tired (once at three in the morning I moved an entire wall of my carport four inches with the front fender that used to be a part of my car). Instead of expending the energy to yank the wheel really hard to get into a tight spot, I actually tried just "aiming" it right at a pretty good clip and... well, missed. But the tradeoff is that at speed, I would not have it any other way. I have had my car above 130 miles per hour according to the Stater and didn't even know it because the steering and handling was so precise. "Confidence inspiring" is a good description once you get the car up to speed. Just don't get lazy when parking it...
