and heres the proof:

cos i cant be bothered writing it out again and linking every pic:

Quote:
i bought this cheap from one of my chick mates, its an '87 honda civic 1.3L carby 5 spd. it has just under 170,000kms its deregistered, couldnt pass a warrant of fitness (WoF- 6 mthly road worthiness check) back in Febuary because of rust and it wasnt worth trying to fix.

next wednesday i have a grass gymkhana run by the motorsports club at work, so i bought this and have stripped out the interior, just for a bit of fun. Afterwards its being turned into a float for my works annual xmas party parade. (refer to 'the plan')

the theme is 'Occupations' so my squadron is going as 'crocodile hunters' so this civic will be transformed into a crocodile!

this cars definitely had it. mechanically its fine but the body is rooted. i could here rust falling off it when i closed the doors. after the xmas party im donating it to the firefighters at work to use for a training aid

technically for the gymkhana the car has to be registered and road legal. im taking this car in on the day for the organisers to look over, i've told them im not throwing any money at it. they agreed to look at it and make sure its safe... i think it will be hit or miss!!

under the back seats and carpet i found heaps of old coins, some of them no longer legal tender (!!), a solar calculator that still worked and some ants o_0

the plan!

it feels a bit nippier now but its definitely still a POS! its maybe saved about 100kg. they say the rule of thumb is 10lb = 1hp. so now it might have about 60hp, lol!

if only we got as offended as canadians when you explain that canada is just another state of the US, this would be a really funny thread.

Take down the "My Other Car is a Porsche" window sticker and invest in the totally gangster, loud, proud, symbol of the 80's door scripts I saw a Ford Tempo driven by a really cute girl w/porsche scripts on it while driving my '24, it totally made my day. I've never liked things like the gigantor prancing horse on Ferraris or the seemingly excessive placement of Porsche scripts. Although a few other prestigious makes dig it:

BTW, to our non-Australian members, I was not swearing.
