Hey Numbers, yeah, the car corners flatly compared to other cars of its year. However, I have stock seat belts in the car and as you can tell from the picture I get tossed around quite a bit and "have to hold on for dear life." I will be going for a full cage and 6-point harness in my 931-track car.
Tmb-racing, what car do you campaign in club racing? Is it a 924? Just curious, as by me in the Northeast there are no 924 cars in PCA club racing.
I was actually looking into SCCA racing, similar to what Vaughan does. However you have to go through an approved SCCA driving school and do a drivers course totaling 5 days before you get your racing license. With Skip Barber in CT being the closet approved SCCA driver school near me, and with their price tag of over $5,000 I have to say no way!
Jon's suggestions of modifications should increase power about 10-12hps (see latest edition of GT Purely Porsche, where a professional race shop designed and installed a hotter cam and vario-timing gear on the Euro 924 cars to be used in the 924 championships in the UK and could only get a 12hp increase after tuning the engine on a dyno). However, $2000 would buy a PCA member 20 DAYS at the track. This will not only make your 924 faster, as you are a better driver, but it will also make any other car you driver faster because your improved driving skills go with you!

Peter - you're looking at the expensive way. If you bring your own car, you can do an SCCA school. Here's the link to the listing for the Club Racing schools this year:
http://www.scca.org/amateur/club_racing/schools_schedule.html
As you can see, this weekend is a school @ NHIS.

Thanks Vaughan,
I looked at your link and there is a school on May 10th at my favorite track, LimeRock.

Just another pic of me at the track. I am the car in the background. Me and my fellow driver, the guy in the 911, just raced down a straight- away that has a large right hand turn (over 250 degrees). Well, as you can see, he passed me, but he did so on the inside of the straight immediately before the right-hand turn. This required him to apply more breaking force than if he was making the turn from the outside, which is where I was. Unfortunately, he was not accustomed to taking the turn from this angle (he told me this after the run) and he did not slow down enough causing excessive amounts of over steer and the resulting spin.
Although spins & spills happen, Driver's Education events are fun and I urge all the speed demons on the highways to come to the track. It would be great to have more 924 cars at the track, especially as I am getting tired of running with overpowered , over engineered Porsches like my friend's in the pic.
As a threat, if I don't see more of you at the track I will be forced to continue posting pics and ranting about track days in the future. It won't be pretty I assure you

It was a professional outfit called Track Cam Productions. They took digital pics of all the cars at the track that day.
