That makes me smile We CAN be competitive in ITB!!!!!!!! I guess if you have anything illegal on the car, you better save it for when you race in NASA. Otherwise your classmates may take a closer look at your ride.

I hope to God that we don't become as successful as you are right away in ITB

Dad and I were talking yesterday and I am trying to convince him to run at Beaver in August with Steel Cities SCCA. Could we talk the PUB racers into looking at running then too? It's a long shot but what do you think? I'm curious to see if you can get below 1:13.

Also, we were looking at the schedule and there are two 3 hour enduros at the Glen in October. One is the SCCA one we did last year and another is an EMRA enduro with 44 Cup. We wanted to gauge your interest in running either one or the other of them. You can run EMRA with either NASA or SCCA liscense. Could we talk you into bringing #77?

Only damage all weekend, in spite of a bit of rubbing and leaning, was ripping the exhaust clean off when loading it onto the trailer! DOH! Real irritating. We try so hard, and still put that exhaust at risk. It scraped, and the flange at the end of the header caught, I think. Argh.

Final results for the weekend, 2 2nd place finishes on Sunday to add to Saturday's checker. We also managed to improve our pace back up to and beyond where we were before, now within a half-second of the leaders (including the front RX7's). Now it's just a matter of finding and holding that pace longer. Just need more practice.

I do wish I could lean on the rear tires a little less; I can really feel when I've overheated them now, and have to take it easy and let them cool off a bit. Too bad it's probably mostly my driving style, but I suspect that I can probably make adjustments to the car to compensate, make it less brutal - I slide the rear end around a lot, even when I don't lose it. Drive it pretty much like a 911.

Had a lot of good side-by-side and close-in action on Sunday. When the fast BMW got by me after the start of the 2nd race (just past half-way), I was able to finally pick up my pace and he didn't really pull away from me, we kept an interval of about 0.2-0.5sec. Good to see. Then I looped it on the last lap trying too hard to close the distance, got out barely in front of the 3rd place Rustang, who zipped by me, but I hung on and passed back in front of him to retain 2nd!

3rd race I ended up playing with the 2nd place IT7 RX7, had a LOT of fun, put on a good driving demonstration for the spectators!

I have no real worries about my car being illegal.

We're still well clear of any Rustangs.

It's not looking at all good for either of those races, Jeremy, as unfortunately Merritt's still unemployed. Finding the budget to wander afield is getting harder, especially as I'm running on new tires now. At least gas and oil consumption are still decent. I'd wanted to go to Mid-O next weekend, but it ain't happenin'. I still hope to go there in Aug for WOR Games, but that still may be a bit of a pipe dream unless things change soon for the better. I still am getting my rocks off quite well just playing at Waterford and scienceing-out the car.

Hell, as well as things are going, I'd really like to go to the ARRC in NOV! Don't know that'll happen, though.

We'll just have to see how it works out for now, and hope that we can come over to the Glen once again. I do have another driver lined up for my first enduro, assuming he can make the schedule, as I owe him the ride still.

Honestly, the Oct/Nov races may be possible, but I'd say the Beav in Aug is really not likely gonna happen. We'll keep in touch, see how it goes. So I can tag it on my schedule, what are the dates on those 2 enduros?

Thanks!

Sorry, I can't help re: Road America - I've never been there. Racenasa.com (OH/IN and Midwest NASA Region page) usually has info pages for each track, but that link isn't working... I've emailed the boss...
