How reliable is the clutch cable on the 77.5
924? We are toying with a trip to Alaska and wuz just wundering - - pack a spare? thanx

Mine snapped on me right where it meets the pedal, nylon was old I guess and it gave out,
My new one makes a nylon to metal sound when fully depressed that worries me Im half waiting for it to go snapp..If you can easily get one Id take it along I guess
it all depends on how the existing one is.

Take a spare, they do break! Easy to fix if you have one, though. There's a weak point where the cable makes a really tight bend, right by the brake master cylinder, where it can snap. Also consider greasing the existing one before departure.

| The reason the nylon snaps is that the cable gets frayed. Lubrication helps. If the clutch is hard to press down and you also hear a rubbing sound, it is time to replace the cable and the nylon ends. The cable is relitively inexpensive. I learned this the hard way of course. |
