Put your fingers in the exhaust and the intake side and you may find metal sticking up in the runners. Sand them down as best you can. I did one recently and it felt like a cave with all those things hanging down and going up. Make everything as smooth as you can.
Pholiat@aol.com really did a job on his. Ask him and let him send you pictures. |

I recently read in an old Excelence article that it is good to clean up some metal from the head around tip of the spark plug. This unshields the electrode so the spark has better connection with the mixture. I think you only want to remove the absolute least amount as possible. I would practice on some scrap aluminum, or go to your Honda Motorcycle dealer and rumage around the trash until you find some small discarded cylinder head. Spend an hour with it to get the feel of the tools and how much pressure it takes.

well Im doing it now ,i made a template of the exhaust header& made those upenings bigger the exhaust side had this flat spot along the top well I rounded it out I enlarged the opening close to an 1/8 th."or more all around and was able to stick the flex shaft of the high performance rotary tool all the way in I also smoothed the area along the back of the valve [short turn radias] and enlareged the whole area, smoothed the valve giude area.Im on the last exhaust valve now Ill
polish all of them next and think of the intake side isnt there something in the short radias side of the intake where you
make this smooth,I think I now what Ill do on the intake. Thanks for the input though
guys.Happy Easter
