Sounds like a bad check valve between the fuel pump and fuel distributor slowly bleeding off the internal fuel pressure.

Vapor honing (vapor blasting) cleans up the aluminum and makes it look like it just came out of the foundry. DO NOT glass bead it.

Chuck, the alignment of the TT, gearbox and engine is a snap. The shift linkage is a bitch due to NO ROOM to work. All it takes is perseverance and many new cuss words.
