Yeah, I've found seal bits in the oil pan too, most recently in the motor I took apart to build my latest Prod motor. Nasty, crunchy things!

PS: and that wasn't even a Turbo!

Yeah, honestly these motors just fall off so much above 6000 we don't really bother going past that anyway.

Exactly, I'll be running the 0.100" shim stack (doubled 0.050" shims).

Assembled it last night; last check of piston/valve clearance, then she goes together!

Good news; I finally got the new (Porsche Classic) valve springs assembled in a head and measured, including with and without shims.


Without shim:

Heard back late yesterday from the dealer, confirming that's one set is one inner and one outer springs, 8 sets will be needed per motor - at about $63 per set.

In the tuned n/a engine I put valvesprings from the group buy 10-15 years ago.

Interesting; I measured a rate of 333 lbs/in on my fresher set of stock springs... lower seat pressure, but could address that with shims...
