As alluded to in Sean's post, the 2004 GTS Schedules are now posted on the GTS website:
http://www.gtschallenge.com/schedule.htm

This includes the schedules now for the VA and South East NASA Regions.

Chris of NASA Virginia tald me that there is a GTS sprint in Feb at VIR. Is it the same series as yours?

The most schedule in 944cup is the same as the GTS Virginia schedule. Is this means there are two diff race groups? How does it work?

Yes, the one and the same, the only GTS Challenge! I believe that's the SE Region?

Yes, GTS Challenge will be one of the sprint race classes in VA Region - lucky guys like you have the option of choosing to chase 944's in the 44Cup, other ITA cars in PS2, or just play with yourselves in GTS1!

Actually, with the growth of the series and the more recent additions of Audi and Mercedes, the doors are open to more ITA and ITB cars, and while GTS1 participation has not been as heavy as GTS3 and GTS4, the numbers are steadily growing - even last year, our first, we had 6 GTS1 drivers show up - certainly more than I expected!

As for race groups, that is determined by the regional (NASA) race director (Chris, in this case), and is largely dependant on numbers. Whenever possible, we'll try for our own race group, but numbers, schedule, and class participation don't always make that possible. We will at least work to run together with 44Cup and other classes running on a 13/13 rule, for the protection of our drivers (and their cars!). This in mind, we will be more likely to run all GTS classes (1 through U) together, rather than, say, splitting off GTSU to run with AIX and CMC, though the vehicle speeds and strengths might seem more of a match. But again, the fundamental determination will be made by Chris, as participation numbers become clear for the event.

I'm sorry, my confusion - I'm not showing that race on my schedule. I should have checked before I spoke, I guess! I don't know that he's running any other GTS races, but I'm not aware of a Feb race. I'll have to look into that.

Final clarification, there WILL be a GTS Challenge race on the Feb VIR date!!! That's Sat, Feb 21, on the long course. The VA site should be getting its update shortly, and I'll be adding it to the GTS schedule tonight.

Sorry for the confusion...

Any idea how many GTS drivers are planning for the Feb VIR sprint? I could be persuaded to make the tow if my arm was twisted hard enough :0
