This is the first time I've been able to access the board in about a week, trying a couple of times a day. Peter in AU, I'm in Melbourne with Bigpond Cable, are there any known issues with this service and the board? Any idea what could be causing the problem? I just get the std windows cannot find page, as if the site does not exist. _________________ Chris

Just heard from Peter; guess he's rather busy, but he is looking into it... _________________ Vaughan Scott

we are trying to fix the problem.
All my time has been taken with my new job and preparing to move house.
The problem is only affecting some guys which is making it really hard to trace. _________________ 1979 924 (Gone to a better place)

I dont know much about this , but there are a couple utilities at the bottom of this site that are supposed to be able to find connection problems ,or bottlenecks . if the people having trouble run this ,it might find the common denominator .

78porsche924, that would be helpful. The problem is trying to duplicate the problem.
When I use http://network-tools.com/ to do a trace and check the DNS it tells me that everything is as I expect it.
We moved the nameservers to new IP addresses about a month ago. Perhaps some of the nameservers out there are not reloading the new IPs. _________________ 1979 924 (Gone to a better place)

Peter@planb.net.au would be great.
You wouldn't have or know someone who has a unix box on comcast that could do a "dig 924board.org" for me?
Hang on! I think by bouncing requests at the main comcast nameserver ns1.sprintlink.net I've managed to force it to recognise the new IP for the main 924board.org nameserver. It was timing out trying to access our nameserver which probably means it was using the old IP.
OK, now hopefully the comcast/sprint nameservers will do a reload from our nameservers in the next 24 hours.
If you would try a lookup and then do it again in a day or so that would really help.
Thanks. _________________ 1979 924 (Gone to a better place)
