The latest issue of 9 Magazine has a 2 page spread of a man who coverted his 931 to a 937 replica, with 937 intercooler, flares, headlights, interior --the whole package. Some nice picks of cutting the rear quater panels, and other fabrication he did. Good issue to buy and save.
Strange how these people are not on this board?

PS the latest issue of GRM has some interesting articles on dyno's, how to read them, how not to be fooled by high HP numbers, etc. Another good issue to buy and keep |

yes, i would love to see the article as well. anyone have the issue and a scanner? we could easily find a place to host the pictures for people to review and read. _________________ '82 931

hey epsylon, is your distributor sitting properly, it looks like it might be sitting to high, IE mounted on wrong holes. if it is sitting like this the cap will hit the hood _________________ 3 928s, |

yes either the PO or his mechanic mounted it wrong 180 degrees and it does just barely hit the hood. i have not had time to mess with it. it does not effect drivability that i am aware of. i just have to be carefull when closing the hood. _________________ '82 931

let me put it this way, CHANGE IT NOW, the hood will hit it and break the spark plug wire and the cap, one day you will go to start it and it wont start, then you will open the hood to see what is wrong and you might spot it right away you might not, but it will casue the car not to start or run REALLY poorley, so do it now so you don't have to worry about it. _________________ 3 928s, |

i will try and get to it this weekend. relocating the distributor means ordering a new valve cover gasket which was why i havn't messed with it yet.
let me make sure i understand what needs to be done though. it is mounted in the wrong mounting holes seating it too high and not the 180 degrees out of phase that is cuasing it to almost hit the hood, correct? _________________ '82 931

basically you undo and remove 3 bolts, you then slide it back take of the old gasket lay the new one down put it back on andput the bolts in the right holes this time and screw down, dont over tighten aluminum head will strip easy. but with it in its current position, it is probably hitting the hood, unless your hood is siting alittle high. _________________ 3 928s, |
