Help, I'm trying to find out information about the DITC system. I was taken out the system from behind the center console and the small wiring harness came apart in my hand and all the wires came out . Does anybody know by color and pin number were they go. Help, Help:cry: |

I've got some info here, but the way the connectors' pins are numbered in both the Haynes and the factory manual casts some doubt on it. (Talking about the 3 pin connector for the crank sensor.) Both books number the connectors from bottom to top: 13, 15, 14. Normally you'd expect 13, 14, 15, right? Anyway, if their numbering sequence is correct, the bottom wire is #13 and that is color "bk" (black). The middle wire is #15 and no color is given - apparently it's a shielding type of ground conductor that surrounds the #13 and #14 wires from my interpretation of the wiring diagram. #14 is the top wire and colored "ye" yellow. I guess it does make sense to place the shielding ground between the other two wires on the connector. Maybe they placed it there as an afterthought, after the wiring diagrams were already completed...
So, from bottom to top it's black-13, (no color)-15, yellow-14. _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."

This might be of some interest to someone... According to the wiring diagram, the crank sensor ("pulse generator") doesn't appear to be grounded to the bell housing. Someone was wondering about that recently in another post. I think Bob "Zuffen" Dodd? _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."

Quite correct; the shield wire has no insulation on it, it's just bare wire.
However, as I read it he's looking for the pinout for the other connector. _________________ Vaughan Scott

Ok, I just interpreted "small" to mean the smaller connector. I do have the other info though... You just like to make my type eh Vaughan?
1 - not occupied - test connection
2 - green - tach
3 - green/white - ignition control pulse
5 - white/blue - throttle switch
7 - brown/white - ignition retard
9 - brown/black - temp sensor
11 - black - battery voltage
12 - brown - ground
...and facing the pins with the ditc box in its' normal upright orientation, the top row from left-to-right goes 2,4,6,8,10,12 and the bottom row goes 1,3,5,7,9,11. _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."

I have the Haynes, workshop manuals from Porsche and a small pile of other assorted publications. You see I got into used Porsche ownership a while before web discussion groups were invented and I have the worlds worst luck with repair shops, so have to do everything myself. The manuals sometimes pop up on eBay and you might find them on microfiche which saves money but that's a pain to work with. There's some talk about getting that stuff published to CDs.
The wire numbers/colors I gave were from the Porsche workshop manual. _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."

I have been scanning my factory turbo manual into the computer just in case I get any of the pages dirty.
