I found one on the internet and it was $427! Wow, almost as much as the cost of my car! Anyone know where to buy one?

Ouch. I guess rebuilding's not an option. I wouldn't know where to get a rebuild kit anyway... Performance shows the same price for an 81-82 924T. $427.95 for new, and $289.95 + $100 core for rebuilt. For an '80 924T, new is $320.95 and rebuilt isn't available. _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."

napaonline.com shows the same part number (CRB217800) rebuilt WUR for all '80-'82 924T at $114.00 + $16.50 core. Don't know if all can use the same part though...may be an error there.
Under comments they say -

What does WUR stand for? I am having similar problems on my 931, and my electrical guy says I need another 931.602.073.00, or, to be proper, a Trans. Coil for Ignition Module. Bosch or Siemans #027100142, or SME 5WK1665. Car runs great, IF you can start it, for about a half hour. Then won't spark. Does the same thing, firing when you turn switch to on or off, only. New paint, new Pirellis', new shocks, new everything. But it won't run over 30 minutes. I want that part, and Porsche provides rebuilt only. AutoAtlanta has new for 650, or used for 250 no guarantee even when you get it. Porsche for 450. This is crazy. Anyone have any ideas who may have a 1981 or 82 931 they're parting out? |

WUR stands for warm-up regulator. It is the control pressure regulator for the CIS injection system, and is attached to the back of the intake manifold.
The part you're referring to (931.602.073.00) is the digital ignition timing control unit which is behind the center console. It is a rare and expensive part and I wish you luck in finding one (that works).
Have you tried replacing the igniter module at the front driver's fenderwell in the engine compartment? They're only about $50 and can cause a no-spark condition. _________________ Jon Furst |
