ran into this by accident
http://www.clubcars.org.au/
and thought it would be great for a NA 924 or a 924S with 944S2 engine posing as a 924.
The regs http://www.clubcars.org.au/Technical_Regulations/Club_Car_Regulations.html are heavily slanted towards NA piston engines with forced induction receiving a 1.7 penalty and rotaries a 1.8.
Engine mods for NAs are virtually free and you can swap in a bigger engine as long as it's from the same manufacturer with the same number of cylinders and is derived from the base engine in the car - the 968 is derived from the 924 right

we have a similar set of rules here. When I run the GT I'm in class that covers 2500 to 4000cc, using the 1.7 factor
The rules are pretty basic see http://209.61.214.39/thesurgery/rules.asp.
They allow for engine transplant and a common one here is the Rover V8 into TR7's and MGB's. Also a lot of Alpha Suds have been re-engined to around 1700cc.
There is soem good racing and it's quite cheap. |
