Wanted to post a quick note to thank the members here.
Last night was the first time my 78 924 has driven under it's own power in many years. The previous owners had done the bodywork and paint, then "a friend did a tuneup" and it never ran for them again. I brought it home on a towtruck on New Year's Eve and have been going over everything for the past six months.
All the relays are doing what they should, the gauges work, the parking brake, dash lights, the tachometer and even the clock all work.
To say I couldn't have done it without the resources here would be a gross understatement. I can't wait to start taking it to shows and meeting more folks in the hobby.
Still lots to go over, but a running car is so much more inspiring than a pile of parts.
Cheers!

That's awesome! There's nothing like driving a car that hasn't been driven, let along roadworthy, for a long time. I don't think driving a new car off the lot could possibly be better - not that I've done it. I came into my 931 with a fair amount of mechanical experience but no knowledge of 924s whatsoever, and I also found this forum to be my main resource by a long shot. _________________ 1980 931 diamond in the rough |
