After some pondering, decided I wanted to drop the front of my '82 931 (street play car). But sticking with stock rates, as I live in the Detroit area, so I do NEED the soft ride - I've had to soak up some massive impacts from potholes and the like (even hit a wood pallet at 80mph once!), and I've been extremely thankful that the design is robust enough to handle it!
Plus, I already have two racecars with all the handling performance I need to get my rocks off in that department - no need to ruin a perfectly great-driving car, in an area with no twisty roads. The only thing this need to do to be fun is to launch hard and dice through traffic at highway speeds... 'cause it's invisible among all the SUVs and vans. Well, that and soak up serious abuse from the roads.
So time to make a nice-looking car that pulls hard. Already got the power side of the equation sorted, so time to make the car look appealing again - with a bit of a nod to Singer for their cool stuff.
So the old Weltmeister lowering springs aren't around any more... but in digging, I found that AST (Moton) are making these specifically for our cars, with a 20mm drop:

As I was looking for a high-quality product, not some Chinese junk, I was happy to find these made in Holland. Took a while, as they were made on order - 3 weeks from order to deliver, for me - and shipping was nearly another $100, which sucked... grand total of nearly $400USD.
But they look as I'd hoped for quality... planning to put them on tomorrow, will get pics of course... rear is already lowered (by letting the torsion bars drop to the lowest adjustment)... again, this is purely for cosmetics, though the handling will be fine, with no deviations from stock (except for the Bilstein HD shocks already fitted; the rest is new stock rubber).
Not what you'll want if you're after a canyon carver or dual-purpose street/track car, but definitely what I'm after... _________________ Vaughan Scott

On a similar note, I put THESE on my 2.5 Turbo and I like them a lot for similar reasons. Combined with fat bars and good dampers, the car handles plenty good for street. _________________ Toofah King Bad

Who wants weltmeisters anyway, i had those million years ago, I had to cut mine down with an angle grinder to get reasonable ride height. The car looked like those carolina squat trucks with them when i first out them on _________________ 1980 924 Turbo

Wow, those are a lot cheaper!
I wonder if the old Weltmeisters were just too much spring rate... guess I can be glad I didn't try them!! _________________ Vaughan Scott
