A little off topic but..., has anyone tried installing an all aluminum race radiator they make for Chevys, or Fords? Jeggs & Summit sell them for reasonable prices and they come in various dimensions with a few choices of where the inlet & outlets are located. I think a shop could weld brackets in the same places that the 924 radiators have brackets so that the radiators would bolt right in.
Any thoughts?
BTW Vaughan, what is the going rate for a re-core? If the above doesn't work for me than a re-core is in my future.

What I found was that the recore I had done was no more expensive than the aluminium race units, but was better, since it was a completely bolt-in replacement! They took the end-tanks off of my old radiator, and welded them on a massive new core - the biggest one they could fit between the end tanks - and sealed, pressure tested, and painted it. Same size as stock. Works beautifully, cost somewhere between 300-400, just like the racing aluminum radiators. But I don't have to screw around with any hose adapters.

I use the Davies-Craig elec water pump and speed control. It keps the car cool and allows a greater water flow. This costs about £200.
