Any 1988 Porsche 924s not meant to be sold in CA?

I bought a 1988 Porsche 924s out of state. I live in Ca. I looked under hood of car for catalytic decal. It does not mention anything from what I can tell about car only being for 49 states, Ca excempt, etc. Does this sound right? Were there any 88 924s cars that were not supposed to be used, sold in CA? Smog tech told me he found a hole in a brass cap next to sensor cat area. He told me this could be the problem. Hopefully that is all. Ger.
