I have a 1981 Porsche 924 2.0 NA. A long time ago I had the distributor apart and managed to lose one of the two coil springs that return the mechanical advance weights to rest and control how far out the mechanical advance goes.
There are two of these springs. I think I still have one. It is a coil spring with a loop on each end for attachment to the weights and mechanism. The one I have is made from 1mm diameter steel wire. The coil is 0.253 OD and is 8 turns. Overall length is about 0.8 inch long.
Does anyone have any I could purchase or give me a lead to a source where I can buy? I suspect the VW rabbit of the same year uses the same distributor. I would buy a pair if necessary.
Thanks,
