Good evening all,

Greetings from Sydney!

I have recently, read arrived today, a 1981 924 Turbo. It is believed to be one of only a few 2 tone coloured cars (inari silver metallic / onyx metallic) delivered to Australia. The car is currently the one colour (inari silver) and I would like to take it back to the original colours by painting the bottom section again. Here is where I would like to request some assistance from any members with two tone cars if possible.

* In the rear number plate area does the lower colour cover the entire section or does it stop at the rear bumper and the number plate area is in the top section colour?
* In the doors (where the Turbo script is) does the lower colour stop at the bottom of the sill or come up to the Turbo script?
* I have noticed on pictures that on some cars there is a pin stripe line of the lower body colour just above where the lower body stops right around the car. Does anyone know if this was on all cars or just a factory option?
* Being a darker colour, I assume that the PORSCHE logo on the bottom rear bumper would be in white so it stands out but then black under the spoiler which it says 924 Turbo?

Thanks in advance for your help with my questions. When I repaint it I want to make sure I have it done correctly.

I can't seem to post pictures but here is the actual car from a recent Outlaw Garage Episode with the previous owner:

Check the links in my signature. Lots of images......

I found my car all white and noticed some chips in the lower paint with red coming through. Transpired to the white over red. The cars are painted in the upper colour first and the lower colour is overlaid.

In theory an '82 wouldn't have been a 2 tone in those colours, an MY81 would be - http://www.werk924.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=48&Itemid=63

Good evening everyone,

I have another question regarding my 924 Turbo. I am in the process of ordering parts before I get it painted in the original Inari Silver Onyx Green.

For the rear decals I understand the 924 Turbo decal on the rear top right is black. My question is around the Porsche decal on the bottom just above the rear bumper. Is this decal meant to be black to match the 924 Turbo one or Silver so it will stand out against the Onyx Green colour on the bottom half of the car?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Steve
