Hey 924
I have a parts ordering problem.
I'm looking for the rear main seal and am not finding the correct one.
Are the "D" and the "K" issues the same?
059 103 051 D is from the Porsche parts list
059 103 051 K is from the internet.
thanks _________________ 1979 924 Diamant Zweischicht.

The letter following the part number usually means the earlier part number has been superseded. So a K comes after a D. For something like this, since it is so cheap, if Porsche still has it, I'd buy the factory part.
I find it a bit strange that Porsche would list an earlier number than an internet part. |

| that is the weird part. it shows the part number for modern VWs golf and toureg,,,d is for the 924 and the K is for modern cars and stuff.
just want to buy the right one or if they are interchangeable _________________ 1979 924 Diamant Zweischicht.

So a warning...
059 103 051 D Is perfect
059 103 051 K ...is the wrong size
Two of us ordered a few from here and there and so far this has been the case
If you order with the K you get a smaller seal. D is spot on

So quick question... I also ordered a rear main from national that was a "k" and it wasn't close to my original. (78' NA). Where did you order your new "D" seal from? And any chance you've sourced a pilot bearing as well? I am struggling on finding those parts. Thanks! _________________ 78' 924 2.0l - Bonestock ---> Rebuilt |
