I'm also a member of the 356 Registry which focuses on the early 4 cylinder air cooled Porsches (see my Avatar) similar to what this site does with the 4 cylinder water cooled Porsches. Both groups are extremely helpful to members with questions and for the most part very supportive while sharing their successes and failures.
I have a shop where I restore the early 4 and 6 cylinder Porsche engines and have raced both. When I saw a video of Vaughan Scott at Road Atlanta in his 924 I knew I had to build one to race. I reached out to Vaughan and Dan on this site asking for guidance and they've been most helpful over the years. With that said, we all have lives other than cars and usually manage to be responsive to each other within a reasonable time. When we can't, some tolerance is required in order for everyone to enjoy the benefits we share.

Frankly, I wouldn't have a running car without parts and advice from Dan, I really do not appreciate people publicly slamming anyone, it is uncalled for.

Thanks Dan, and everyone else who has contributed so much to this fun community!

Thanks Chuck, thanks David. I do appreciate all the kind words.

FWIW, this car is still available.

I think he got it from Classic 9 http://www.classic9leathershop.com/ but I don't see 924/944/968 on their list of items. You might try contacting them to see..

Another option I have heard from a 944 owner that the carpet sets offered by Rock Auto are pretty good. They have a cutpile (stock) and essex (plush) option that is reasonably priced in a lot of different colors.

I actually don't know the source of this carpet set. I bought it a long time ago in a parts lot from one of the Canadian forum members, Kenodog if I'm not mistaken. He acquired it in a parts lot as well, so the origin is unknown.

Bob at Classic 9 stopped making the 924/944 carpet sets a while ago because (surprise surprise) the 924/944 crowd were complain-prone cheapskates. If you CALL him and ask him nicely and promise not to be the typical 924 douchebag owner (joke), he might make one for you.

Two more data points on carpet kits:

World upholstery quoted me $900

https://www.worlduph.com/porsche/924_944_968/
Part # 924-7713: '79-'82 Coupe w/ space-saver space tire

For brown carpets werk924 quoted me:

"A complete set is 1,199 USD

The shipping costs are 449 USD : This could be cheaper , if we can send to a local company.
( privat address shipping is much more expensive )"
