Price: $2500 firm
This car is exactly as it was when I acquired it in 2015. I have not had time to do any work to it.

Car runs, but has hard cold start issues, needs work to be a reliable runner.
Needs battery.
Has incorrect fuel pump installed by previous owner. Includes correct high pressure CIS Walbro pump, but needs to be installed.
Brakes should be gone through.
Has good roller tires, but they should be replaced.
Included in sale is a brand new set of proper color "chocolate brown" carpet to replace the original badly faded carpet.
Interior cloth is in excellent condition, EXCEPT for the door cards which have some discoloration and water damage.
Steering wheel has been replaced with correct brown leather wrapped 4-spoke 14" OEM wheel.
Note that lower valance was replaced with correct OEM part by previous owner, but is in original OEM black primer, was never painted to match the platinum metallic body. This should be easy to address if going for concours restoration.

Model: 1981 924, US-spec. Weissach Limited Edition
Color: Platinum Metallic (LM8U)
VIN: WP0AA0925BN451159
Acquired: Jun 2015

Acquired from Fred Wooldridge Used Cars in Grain Valley MO via Google search

So, Iíve messaged this seller on several of these listings with no response. Is this typical of the 924 board?

I received one message from you yesterday, which I just read. Haven't seen any other messages.

The Weissach is still available. You can email me at dan DOT beckett AT ideola DOT com if you'd like to discuss this car or any of the others.

Dan, thanks for the response, I'd love to take this 924 off your hands. I'm ok with the price if it's presented accurately. The cold start issue is fairly common, but would definitely need to know it's a runner and driver. These are a labor of love to be sure. I'll send you an email after work today with additional information. Thanks again for the follow-up.

I've had the displeasure of dealing with you once, never again. I won't buy anything from rude xxxxx

Glad to see your getting out of the 924 world. Good day!

First of all, I have no record or history of ever selling or buying anything to or from you, so you must be mistaken.

Secondly, I'm not getting out of the 924 world, so sorry to burst your bubble.

Thirdly, I operated Ideola's Garage for 15 years with very few complaints except during the period when I relocated my family, 10 cars, and two businesses from Michigan to Illinois. I am the #1 poster on the forum, and have arguably contributed more time, effort, and good will to fellow 924 enthusiasts than just about anyone here, aside from some of those who preceded my membership here (924RACR, Paul Stewart, Smoothie, Rasta all come to mind).

I learned a long time ago that one cannot make everyone happy all the time. I have no idea what your beef is with me, and sorry it didn't work out for you. Your post is in bad taste and you owe me an apology, though I won't hold my breath. It's attitudes like yours that persuaded me to discontinue selling to the 924 community.

Now, YOU can have a good day.

I second that statement! Dan has always answered questions for a lot of us. He has spent a lot of time keeping the cars alive, there are many cars on the road today because of him!

Seems to me that this thread probably should have ended on the 8th of April after Dan responded within a half hour of PorscheAriel's question...or maybe with "just" PorscheAriel's response to Dan on the 9th.
Sometimes other things are better left unsaid, or maybe said in private.

Now then, other than that...Good to see you a bit more active on the Board again Dan, kinda missed you and your wisdom, knowledge and helping hands. Hope you and yours are well and weathering this COVID-19 the best you can, as I hope everyone else is too!
May be dropping you a PM later...

Hey guys, my apologies for any miscommunication. Dan has been very candid about his advert, and I'm currently messaging him to work something out on his 924. I've worked with another seller on this site to purchase wheels.

Overall, it's been a pleasure dealing with like-minded 924 owners and look forward to seeing Dan's 924 to a new home!

I, for one, don't believe you have anything to apologize for.
I'm also happy to see you are working things out with Dan and expect that both of you fellows will be satisfied with the result.
Congratulations!

Now, as for this site, you may be hard pressed to find another with the majority of players having such dedication to a single model of Porsche through the years! Some may say it's an insane obsession!!!
Welcome!

Thanks TJC, I'm humbled by the individuals I've met so far. Dan, in particular, clearly knows his stuff. As someone who is new to the site, his content and post history is what makes this place special. After being disappointed with PCA.org forums, this site is certainly living up to your last comment. Great to be aboard!
