|

Well sort of...I just purchased a 1977 924 with 28,000 original miles (documented) for my father-in-law who had a ‘79 that he bought new but sold in 2000 due to some financial difficulties. Looks like this one is in great shape. 2nd owner bought it in ‘79 dove it a bit every yr and had it garaged.
Questions I had.
1. Does anyone know the vin # that they switched to 110HP? I saw it somewhere but can’t find it again.
2. The car has the original Atlantic Blue Metalic paint in good shape but I know my father-in-law won’t like it too much. He’s more of a Mexico Beige or Dolomite gray type of guy. Thinking of having it having it sprayed with Halo EFX liquid wrap so that the original color is not disturbed. Anyone try that?
3. The only issue I observed is a faulty wiper. Goes on randomly from time to time. I read some posts and seems like a common issue with 924/944. Would you recommend replacing the switch, relay and arms all at once just to be sure.
4. Best place to get parts? Pelican?
Thanks in advance and I’ll post pictures when it arrives |

Parts: It can be a bit of a chase: Pelican has some, Paragon Porsche some, I get quite a few from Autohausz of Arizona, EBS Racing has quite a few parts also. If it has a real Porsche part number I generally get them from Sunset Porsche in Portland OR because they have a discount and Pelican etc charge list prices. I got an oil pressure sender from an outfit in Baltimore. Used parts I get from Parts Heaven in Hayword CA, probably someone on the east coast has them also. Quite a few parts are the same as VW Beetle, Super Beetle and Rabbit, try your local TAPS also.
When you need stuff put in the For Sale/WTB, many of us have a stash. _________________ Mike
