Sorry for the uneven updates.....
Made it to FL! Had a few teething problems. The only major one was when the car suddenly quit in Georgia. I was alone at the time and called Hagerty roadside. While I waited, I cycled the key and didn't think I heard the fuel pump. Removing the pump relay and jumping terminals 30 and 87 got the pump running. The car then started and I drove it the rest of the way.
Finding a replacement relay, locally, was impossible. I ordered relay part # 406906059 from Pelican. It arrived yesterday, but sadly, did not work.
My friend, who is driving the car home, will have to rely on the jumper (it did not get hot). Anyone know the right replacement for the original relay? That part number is 931615113.
Anyway, some photos from the trip:

I hope to do the drive again next year, which is the Hagerty Amelia or Bust Tour. The roads were fantastic! |

It could be your overboost switch on the upper charge tube or the tach signal to your relay losing signal somehow, or possibly some other wiring fault..
If you stick a regular 4 prong relay in there it should run the pump with the key on like an easier jumper..
You did try grounding your overboost switch wire right?
I have a US S1 931 FPR with the rev limiter and a euro FPR with no rev limiter that I am not using.. Want one? What's a fair price?
Want one shipped fast to Florida? LMK
Is that some kind of vintage Escort radar detector on your dash? _________________ 80 Turbo - Slightly Modified |

Thanks. Yeah Vaughn mentioned the wiring issue. I will check. The car made it back to Michigan and ince I get some time I'll give it a whirl.
And yes, that is a vintage ESCORT detector. It came with the car. The chirps are somehow soothing...

What a cool way to start out after a restoration!
I always have a little jumper with me in the car if the relay fails _________________ 1980 924 Turbo
