AC compressor is rebuilt.

Does anyone know if it's normal to lower RPM when the AC compressor works?

We did a general overhaul of the brake system (calliper gasket set, brake hose, brake lines).

The air conditioner works and the compressor is dry underneath.

Some cars actually kick up the revs a bit to make up for this (normal occurrence) either by introducing a small vacuum leak, or some electronic means in newer cars, but I can't remember if these cars do either. Mine does lower a little. Certainly, it should not lower to where it is threatening to stall or anything...

Mine drops about 100 rpm.
If both fans start lower other 50 rpm.

I had to increase the idle speed to 1100 rpm to be ok. In the worst case scenario, it drops to 950 rpm and the engine runs ok. (increased temperature and AC on, head light on, etc)

Why US S2 Kjet on EU car?

Is there a difference between them (kjet)? I was even thinking of buying a Porsche 924 turbo US model. Are the main differences written somewhere?
What should I expect? I know the power is lower - but I don't know exactly what's changed.

The body is fine but I would like to put a European 924 turbo engine.

Ref. to ''barbed fitting into your existing housing and connect the Purolater''.
From what I know - It is not easy to weld aluminum and the angle there don't make it easier.

Lots of differences on US 924 turbo
lower compression
lower boost
lower power
US emissions items
Federal safety items - impact bumpers, side markers
4 lug hubs, rear drum brakes

With plenty of Euro model turbos on the market, I'd buy local if possible, but Euro cars do command more €/$ than US

As for ally welding, there's no issue if you have a good local welder. Its easy...

Larger inlet being installed for bypass valve, not me welding..

The car is already in Europe. I don't have to worry about shipping.

European 924 turbo is very difficult to find with air conditioning.
The car I'm talking about has a very good price + AC and it's from 1982. If it has 5 lug hubs I guess it has ventilated discs on the rear - is it?

I intend to put a European engine on it. What else should I replace to become European spec turbo?
The turbine you have already written needs to be changed. Otherwise? intake, outtake, exhaust system, distributor, distributor management, digital ignition and timing control (DTIC) ?

Mileage clock I have (indicate kilometers) and it works.

I noticed that the ventilation system of the engine differs from the European model. Although it is from 1982 all the air mixed with oil filter goes in the air filter. That is exactly how I got on turbo S1 1980

I tried to find one to weld cast iron when I got out the wastegate. No one wanted to weld.

Maybe I'm lucky with aluminum

What diameter the fitting should be?

Thats is a series 1 car, series 2 plenum + TB + boost tube, however its has series 1 pipe from Purolator to air box......

Series 2 plumbing from Purolator should go under the airbox and into the 15mm fitting under the air/fuel metering unit so oil vapour bypasses the air filter and does not wet it out with oil. The pipe from Purolator needs to be reduced in size from 30mm? down to 15mm

Unless......theres is US pipework or AC pipework under the airbox + air/fuel meter to block the EU updated plumbing?

Thank you for 15 mm. The pipe from Purulator 22 mm.

Ref. to: ''Unless......theres is US pipework or AC pipework under the airbox + air/fuel meter to block the EU updated plumbing?''

The company that sells the car has another US 924 turbo from 1982. (front damaged).
The Purulator goes to air box also. I think it's something different to oil separator system to all US 924 turbo models.
I have air conditioning and my car is a European model. There is nothing under the air filter housing that will obstruct the route (there is enough room).

I was unable to find a cheaper alternative to Genuine steering tie rod. (aprox. 120 euro).
Does it fit from another car? (vw Golf 1 ??) Is there an after market variant?

Here I found a very good version - but unfortunately it is no longer available.

I bought 191 419 803 / SWAG 30 93 7066 VW golf 2 without power steering.

Less than 20 euro. Swag germany tie rod.

On one side I had the same spare part. (the old tie rod was Golf 2 part - not original).

The eagle has landed on 4 wheels. (Has been on wooden pieces for 3 weeks waiting for spare parts)

I changed the following spare parts (on both sides):
wishbone ball joint and front rubber mounting
steering gear tie rod
steering knuckle roller bearings + radial sealing ring
Shock Mount Plate bearing

The steering wheel moves surprisingly easy after repair. ( Shock Mount Plate related most probably)

Do you think it is a good idea to put an Oil Catch Can after genuine oil separator?
From Oil Catch Can no hose comes out to the air filter.

The end result: the oil will not reach the air filter
