Anybody know where the physical electrical ground location is for the rear window defogger? The electrical diagrams say it is on current track #9 but does not give a ground location.

Yes I understand that part, there are two wires. One supplies 12V and the other must go to ground somewhere. Neither of the two wires is connected to ground.
Where is the ground point for current track #9 located?

One wire is a switched wire for interior light. The strut is the earth.

One side has plastic end (12v for defogger) is connected to strut and supplies power to defog. The other end is the earthing strut (#9)and also has a sliding switch which turns on the interior light when hatch is raised.

The defogger earths through the strut to the body. There is no earth wire #9
The wire on that end is for the light (#34?)

Thanks for the help. It makes sense now and things are working as they should. Raising the rear haych now turns on the light in the back and the cabin light in the passenher compartment. That was unexpected.
