Anyone have one ? I tried looking this up but after a few hours of searching just became confused by the differences between G31 / 901 / 915 / 928 parts. I know there have been many people that have used different components from both the 911 and 928 world.

My question is does anyone have a definitive list of the parts needed to rebuild a G31 as fully as is possible with the limited bits still available new ? Syncho PNs and quantities, dog teeth gears, sliders, rings etc. ?

Olive's transmission was rebuilt by the PO but something inside is not right. After a half hour of driving when the box warms up she gets a hum. I changed the fluid to a good synthetic and when I pulled the drain plug (magnetic) it was full of metal. Fudge. Since I have a factory LSD unit to swap in I will take it into Weissach here to be rebuilt and the LSD installed but would like to provide them with all of the needed parts, gaskets etc. so they don't install anything they shouldn't. . .

TIA,
Leigh

Subscribed!

I also have the hum over 60mph. Front input bearing also rattles at idle.
Running Royal purple...three changes later. Would love rebuild as far as possible.

Hi Leigh, great chatting with you today! I found the following link to Peter Tinucci's excellent article posted on Ideola's Garage:

And this one still available from flussigmagazine:

Thank you Kevin. I am going to do some more research and see if I can nail down what is still available (for now). Then I'm going to stock up because this stuff never gets cheaper or easier to find !

These definitely go on the 'must have' list for a rebuild...

a full set of dogteeth gears.
