Why not to use early offset 944 Turbo knuckle, rotor and caliper ?
I am using late offset front and rear 944 Turbo parts for my GTR build Car is wide body so late offset actually helps with correct wheel spacing.
I like 944 T calipers for easy race pad selection. I know that it is same with Boxster calipers but off the shelf parts are just easier to get ad bolt on directly.

It's much easier to find Boxster calliper honestly. At least here.

931 944 951 masters are all the same other than their failsafe mechanisms, no change in displacement or bias between them..

Good stuff, thanks. Did you keep the X setup, or changed for fronts/rears?

Managed to find 951 rear callipers. Less expensive than Boxter + Brackets, but need to do a full rebuild on them.

944 S2 have diferent master and also ABS system.

I wanted to put on my car but the system was too different and involved too many modifications and adaptations.

Nice looking rear callipers

I use 968 (same as 944T/944S2) front and rear calipers on stock 931 piping/master and boost system. No issues....great brakes, and this is a track car.
Rear calipers bolt straight on over existing disc. Front calipers were slightly modified to suit bolt pattern, over 911 C2 discs, longer studs and 6mm spacer.

It's been on the car for over 20 years.

My setup will be 996 Turbo front callipers and rotors, 944 Turbo rear callipers and early 944 Turbo rear rotors. I plan to change the master cylinder from 23.8 to 25.4 as fitted in the 911 RS. It's damn cold during winter, so probably more progress in few months

Short update. The brakes project is done, details here:
http://924board.org/viewtopic.php?t=44776

Recently I made a quick decision (not sure yet if it was a good decision) and bought a set of Gaz Gold coilovers for front and adjustable shocks for rear.

They look really cool, the build quality is very nice.
I've been using adjustable Gaz Shocks (brand name is misleading, as these are typical OIL shocks) in my other cars, but never the Gold ones nor the whole strut.

As I bought these rather unplanned, I was not checking much details about these. These were dedicated do 924 so I bought them.

First thing that struck me when I removed my coilover strut based on the stock one is the length of the "leg" with shock extended:

.

I had to figure out how to install then and be able to drive the car, as when I first installed the strut it was waaaay to low.

These came with 300lbs springs and helper springs in the set.
I have some other springs to choose from, but for the time beeing left the ones the set came with.

The rear shocks are almost exactly the same length as the stock ones (maybe 3-5mm difference when fully extended.

On car:

Nice! How much shock travel do you have left in and out when it is set at your desired ride height?

I've set up this to have 2/5ths down (wheel goes down) and 3/5ths of shock travel up (wheel goes up). With A arms almost parallel to the ground when sitting in the car (wheel side slightly lower). This has worked before for my other cars' setups. But any hints welcome, as I do track days only 1-2 times a year.

When I installed the struts initially with fully extended it was in the position that currently is with the car on the ground (A arms parallel'ish to ground).

Maybe when using stock wheels I could allow the wheel to hide inside the wing, but my brakes/wheel spacers/wheels setup does not allow to do that.

Still need to go for geometry alignements to see how the car handles and in the plan is to change rear torsion bars for either 27mm or 28mm. Don't want the car to be to stiff. I used 325lbs front coilover springs and it was bit to stiff for me. Changed to 275lbs - better. Now in the middle with 300 lbs - time will tell if I buy something less stiff.

For the torsion bar I'm struggling whether to spend extra bucks and buy the hollow ones, or just the solid ones. Any opinion here?

Is it only me, that when I make a decision to stop spending $$ on my car a bargain appears and I spend more?

So be it, got 19mm 968 CS rear sway bar. Brand new with bushings for $130 delivered.

Fits P'N'P

My stock setup is (was) 23mm front sway bar and 14mm rear sway bar.
This brings me to a conclusion that I NEED to upgrade front sway bar as well obviously. The question is what should I get to the front? 25.5 26.8 ???

As I have late EU 931 it seems the 944 sway bars should fit?

I’m about to do the same on the rear for the race car shell. Good price new from Porsche. I have a 26.8 ready to go on the front. On the turbo I run 23 on the front and 18 on the rear. Happy with that. Have wondered if bigger bars would work but left as is because it’s the early front bar set up. Haven’t got my head around how to fit late bars on early cars.

Quick look under the car, and no way 944 25.5 or 26.8 front sway bar would fit P'N'P. Then I leave it as is for the time being on my list of things to consider a bit later. Maybe an aftermarket sway bar or some kind of mod. Not sure yet, but as the season ends, this can wait to spring.
