|
|
I have a 1987 Porsche 924s with the stock phone dial rims. I was wondering what specifications a wheel must meet to fit the car. I know they must have 5 lugs, I am choosing a 15x6 wheel, and they need to have offset that is more on the positive side. (This is my first time buying aftermarket wheels for a car and I know I could just look up how this works, but I wanted to ask people that have experience with my actual car instead of a general guide) _________________ 1987 Porsche 924s . Porsche heads refer to "early" vs "late" offset. 924 is "late," around 52mm.
This means many factory wheels from late model Porsche cars will fit.
Check out www.wheelenhancement.com for a fairly thorough online catalog of factory and aftermarket wheels. _________________ Toofah King Bad

Its not only about the wheel fitment but also the tyres size you plan on using too _________________ 1980 931 - forged pistons, Piper cam, K27/26 3257 6.10 hybrid turbo, 951 FMIC, custom intake, Mittelmotor dizzy & cam pulley, H&S exhaust, GAZ Gold, Fuch'ed, Quaife

Staying in the neighborhood of ET50 should be pretty safe, but there's a fair amount of wiggle room at stock width - the willtheyfit calculator is really useful here. If you search the forums for other people's wider wheel setups, you can see if your aftermarket wheel/tire combination fits inside that profile in the diagram. For example, I know that my 16x8 et52 w/ 225/50R16 fits in the rear - if I put a 15x6 et36 in the calculator, it fits within my existing setup. Keep in mind that this is no guarantee, and it might look weird.
If you have any interest in running summer tires though, going up to 16" gives you a lot more tire options. I personally really like Porsche D90s on our cars, but there are lots of OEM and aftermarket choices here. _________________ '87 924S
