I was looking on youtube for videos for removing the fuel tank so i can clean it out. I found a step by step video from a 84 944 na that was very detailed. Would the removal of the fuel tank from my 82 924 na be the same essentially?

I believe the 944 tanks were different from the 924. There should be a lot of posts on this board with removal instructions (mine included). Run a few search and you should get something. I like to use Google for my search. Try something like “fuel tank removal site:924board.org” and you should get a good list.
