Hello All,
New member, just purchased a 1982 931. Will start performing the resurrection in the sticky notes.
1st silly question.... Previous owner said the 931 have a K24 Turbo. Is that True? Can a K26 be mounted as upgrade?
2nd question: The USA versions produced less power than rest of world. How do I regain the lost power? _________________ 1982 924 Turbo 931

I'm pretty sure all 931 had a K26 stock? There were variants throughout it's lifespan, but I thought they were all K26. I am not an expert, but I did recently buy a '82 931, so I'm still figuring this stuff out.
Does your car run? Based on your resurrection comments, I'm guessing no. In any case, I think the vast bulk of the power difference is that the US cars are limited to about 6 or 7 psi of boost, and the Euros have 10 psi. This is set via a spring in the wastegate, so you can change that, or use a manual boost controller, which is probably the route I would take.
My car is currently over-boosting and I still haven't figured out what kind of ignition system has replaced the former DITC, or if my boost situation was intentional or something is broken. It will hit 15 psi if I let it, which I try not to. _________________ -----------------------------------------
