I am looking to buy a early US 924. Lower the spec the better, rollup windows, cloth seats, no AC, 4 spd, no sunroof, unmolested original correct car. Where is the best place to look? Hemmings? PCA? Ebay?

Any ideas and or leads would be both welcomed and appreciated!

Andrew

Have you tried searching on Auto Tempest?

https://www.autotempest.com

It’ll give you search results from multiple Craigslist across the country as well as eBay, etc.

The answer may very well be Canada. Many (on Pelican, Rennlist) confess that their go-to place is the great white north. Add to that the exchange rate and you're good to go.

You can search Auto Trader or Kijiji.ca

I'm with Curtis on this one. It always amazes me the $ you guys pay in the 'States for what would be scrap cars here. Most I have ever paid for a complete car here is $2,000 Cdn. for Sabine. And she is an S2 931 with a pristine local history. For parts cars I don't pay more than $750 Cdn. and that needs to be a 931 with a decent body that I can recoup the investment from.

Importing is easy as well. Not sure how you guys get titles from each state or what they require but you will find most sellers here will be more than willing to make sure they have all of the things you need readily available. Getting the title for your particular state will be much more hassle that actually getting the car into the 'States. Especially if you live in Commie-Fornia. Thye are not fans of cars that list oil consumption as 1 liter per 1600 kms right off the lot ! lol

My son would go on the warpath if I sold Olive. I gave her to him. By the time he learns to drive she will be a pretty expensive little auto. Speaking of that, I just got this in the mail last week to strap onto her :

CGT intercooler. It falls within the +/- 2 years of manufacture for her so the collector department gave me the go ahead to install it and still be eligible for cheapo insurance. Have an S2 complete intake as well which will help her rev quicker. Also with the intercooler I got a 911 all aluminum pressure plate that is from an '81 911SC so is also allowed under the rules. She is fast now with 10 psi of boost and no I/C but after I put this stuff on the rebuilt motor she will be a ROCKET. And a damn sexy one at that..
