You can get everything new but some parts are not worth trying to get new as they are quite good used as well.
Stuff like ignition dizzy, ignition module, pistons, even cam.
For a USA stage 1 NA lets say it would be interesting to rebuild the 924 as an European spec.
For that you can import pistons, cam and ignition components.
While the engine is off for rebuild, get a new clutch, put in new polyurethane bushings all around and upgrade the sway bars to 944 ones.
Get top performance tires, don't go cheap, get some BBS wheels to fit nicely.
In the end, very important is a PROPER 4 wheel alignment, ignition and fuel mixture tuning.
The result will be a very responsive, sharp, crisp and precise handling car...also with some good looking wheels it will look amazing.
Been driving only turbos now for like 10 years.
Since some years now I've been dreaming of a 924 NA, properly sorted on modern bushings and coilovers, top performance tires, stiff sway bars, good looking wheels and a revy fresh and lightened engine on EFI.
That would be the ultimate tight corner roads killer. _________________ https://www.the924.com |
