Hm, what do you want to do with that knob?
Knowing you a bit, you must want to use it for something else other than its factory intended use

The knob I need is like this (with vacuum connections), not the one with only electrical connections:

Part number is 477.959.519

Morghen is right, I have never seen one like that in a factory car. Would it be dealer installed A/C maybe instead of factory installed ?

Nope, it is factory one, clearly present in PET also. It is the same knob/switch like I posted photo above from backside.

Exactly, that is a knob from an aftermarket unit.
This is how the factory fitted ac knob looks like.

Sorry to say but you are wrong, that is factory A/C, there were no aftermarket units in Europe and PET clearly shows correct Porsche part number and switch for the early (up to 79) 924.

You can see Porsche symbol on the backside of the switch also.

The photo you show is for late factory A/C, aftermarket controls were completely different, they were installed into the drivers side center vent (left edge) and one of the center vents was shorter.

And I saw one other 924 few years ago locally ('77) that had knb exactly like on my photo and all other components were same also. From 1979 and up many components changed including compressor.
