While hunting the source of a vacuum leak, I found out that my '81 N/A's charcoal canister was broken in several places - most notably the bottom, which was split wide open. I'm looking to replace it, but I noticed a few things I was hoping to have clarified:
1) My canister has two ports in it, as opposed to the Haynes Manual/Porsche Workshop manual stating there are supposed to be three. I'm not seeing a third vacuum line around, so I'm guessing this is correct for my car?
The part number for the one I pulled off was 928 201 014 05 - possibly a later revision?
2) As for replacing it (since I definitely don't want to delete it, and my current is beyond repair), all the new ones that are available appear to be intended for three vacuum lines. Is it possible to just cap the extra port? Or should I be looking for a new/used one with two ports, like I currently have?
If anyone can point me in the right direction regarding this, I'd appreciate it! _________________ 1981 Porsche 924 N/A, Black - "Brunhilda" |
