Hi 924 Board! Canadian 931 owner here, need your help!
car arrived on the flat bed last week, its a 1980 924 Turbo (931) 87,000 on ODO
This is the report of the first time I attempted to start the vehicle since I owned it. The previous owner said it would take a few attempts each time to start it. He also said that the he put 91 octane in the tank in April of this year.
1st - Car starts immediately, runs for around 2 seconds and then dies. ( a steady decline of RPM and then dies)
2nd - I started again, and it ran for 2 seconds and died,
3rd - I repeated this a third and forth time and it the same thing happened.
4th & 5th - On the forth I gave it some gas and it died even more quickly. On the fifth try I gave it gas again and it died.
6th - it started and ran. stayed running.
Once it was running it ran nicely, no knocking and no misfiring, accelerated to 3000rpm and it was smooth.
So. what is my issue?

Hi and welcome to the board.
Congrats on your purchase.
Where in Canada? I'm in Ottawa and we have member across the country.
Your problem could be a combination of things, but my first guess would be Air and Fuel ratio. This could be cause by vacuum leak, bad warm-up-regulator and/or bad adjustment on the fuel distributor.
First, I would run a smoke test and eliminate all vacuum leaks. _________________ 1976 924 N/A ROW SOLD
