Just a heads-up to those who've been watching our odyssey from amateur small-time regional racing to the Big Show: we've finally made it!

Starting Monday, Sept 5th, PUB Racing will be contesting the 2017 SCCA National Championship Runoffs at Indy Motor Speedway. We'll be running the infield road course, in a configuration similar to the MotoGP/F1/PWC courses, and we'll be racing the #25 Hidari Firefly we've built over the last 9 years in the Prototype 2 (P2) class.

Live timing and scoring, as well as video broadcast, will all be streamed from this webpage:

A schedule and various other information is available there, but in short, our schedule is as follows...

Mon-Thurs we qualify in the morning only, one session. The race will be at 9:35 AM CST Friday morning (9/29).

The racing will be open to spectators too, so if you are in the Indy are or passing through, and want to stop by and say hi, feel free to! We'll be paddocked just off of Foyt Dr., two rows north of the large Mazda tent; just look for the Bosch, Witch's Hat Brewing, and Munk's Motors banners... and, of course, the car!

Completed the week and the race successfully, and finally made it back home! Still more racing going on today, the last day of racing.

Will follow up with a more detailed report about what it's like to race at the Brickyard, but for now, cliff notes: trouble in qualifying, mostly being behind the pace and not many laps to come up to speed, plus the car lacking development, we started pretty far back - 20th out of 24 cars in-class.

But we had a helluva drive throughout the race, starting with picking up 4 spots on a very exciting opening lap - outside pass in 11 on cold tires!!! - and closed with a pass on the last two corners to finish up in 13th.

Gotta get my desktop fixed so we can crank out the video...
