Hey everyone! New 87 924s owner here. Picked it up for $2k less than a week ago.

Long intro short - I need to identify what part this hole is in so I can replace ASAP. I got the car up on jacks to get an oil change going and noticed a hole in a plastic housing on the underside of the engine and a coating of black, viscous liquid coating everything around it.

My Porsche-owning friend suggested that it's the PCV System...well I'm having a hell of a time trying to find exactly what I need to replace to fix this issue.

I currently have no owners or service manuals to help me out here; please help! Thanks!

Hello and congrats on the purchase. That is your inner timing belt cover with the hole in it. It also looks like every oil seal on the front of your engine is leaking. For great shop manuals online check out Clark's Garage. Very in depth and free. Also watch some of these videos. http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLNwKr6qIrgPNlp90JPyA2hHCs2ltpFXLj
He is a member here on the board and makes great how to videos. Most info and parts on the 944 are the same on the 924S so I watch all of his videos.
Good luck Paul.
