Rasta

If nobody answers this before me, I''ll get it measured. A 931 is on the lift plus I have a few downpipes lying around. One of the very reasons its on the lift is do redo the downpipe and exhaust.

...and that is a kooky number for what we have access to over here. 2.36"

57mm is basically 2.25" so at our 2.5", easy to get tube, we are at 63.5mm and 3" is 76.2

Its harder to get 2.75"

Inches seems like a scale for agricultural applications
Non metric stuff is silly....you can count all of those 60mm if you want to..but how will you count the 2.36 inches?

I've been fighting the connection between the downpipe and the rest of the system ever since I got this car. There is a "slip fit" there now, with a clamp on it, but it's loose.

Suggestions welcomed. I've been browsing some racey clamp setups, etc, trying to find a good solution.

Morghen- We are stuck with non metric even though I like working in both. Maybe its because I have to most of the time. If we get speed limits here in kph they will just lower the speed limit. For that reason I'll stay non for now

Rasta - why not try something like this? Just v-flange and call it a day Edit: Cheap ebay OBX or other works just fine but personally I like the ones that have a pilot lip. It centers everything and it seals up nice

I made this for an experimental exhaust for my BMW.

I constantly have to convert from metric to imperial/inch and vice versa. Units are just units after all.
Counting 2.36" reasonably accurately, just use thousandths@2360.

Ridiculously simple fix. Have a machine shop turn a step spacer from 60mm to 2.5" nominal. Tig weld the spacer to some 2.5" pipe and away you go. In the future all necessary bits will be common to N. America 2.5" stuff.

Never had an issue with my slip joint. Snug fit and coated with loctite high temp gasket sealant.

PS this set up has been made redundant by a custom front section
