Looking forward to getting my '82 924 NA out after winter sleep in my garage. Could ya'all provide some "stupid study" on checking the distributor's mechanical advance? The car idles and runs well - but it wasn't taching smoothly beyond around 4200rpm. I'll check other things, but I want to eliminate mechanical advance as a problem. Thanks in advance for your help. - Peter

Buy or borrow an "advance" timing light. Will allow you to test total advance, and with the lines disconnected, mechanical advance.
