Got my 951 intake in the mail today & dropped by my old work & had my friend weld the anti slosh flap in the pan.

I know it's ideal to replace rings, but last years compression test numbers were 150-165psi range, felt peppy & didn't burn excessive oil. The money is better spent on clutch or brake upgrade & in say 150,000 kms I will do a complete rebuild, main bearings & everything.
----------
-Checked ring gap for every Porsche ring. .020-.025" for top 2 rings and .030-.032" for bottom ring.
-Cyl bores look good & no finger nails catch.
-Due to being forged pistons from a timing belt mis-hap, there were sharp edges where the valves hit. Cleaned up with a die grinder (very low speed) & stone to help prevent detonation under BOOST also cleaned carbon off sides & top with wire wheel.
-Verified piston oiling holes were clean with drill bit.

About once a day I think about colours.
What colour will Wilson get painted after the wrenching & welding?
My top choices: Black, Metallic Ruby-Maroon, Silver.
Silver is so boring. But I have enough paint left over from Gramps to do the car in & out. But that's not a good reason for silver. Silver is the most "Vanilla" colour for these cars. I much prefer metallic GREY. But Something about silver is great. It's an invisible cloak. It's a super power. For a bad boy like Wilson is I like the added element of discreet. So today I lean towards Silver to tone the car down and make it less loud (with the exhaust/louvers/cage/wing/Splitter) I think it's going to attract attention and I don't wanna be a heat score on the streets. So even though it's one of my LEAST favourites, I think boring old silver might be the colour of choice.
