So,

Coolant is full and gets hot
Valve to allow hot coolant into the dash is open
heater core gets hot. i can feel it getting hot when i stick my hand through the dash vent hole.
BUT:

the air coming from the fan still blows cool and not hot.

ALSO:
i am missing the air mixing chamber and the air ducting in the dash. WTB?

Center vents are always cold, heat only comes to feet and defrost.

that would be helpful. and my defrost vents aren't opening well all of the metal cables were unhooked and I had to figure out where they go... I cannot get the face vent/floor vent/defrost air flow position switch to work. ideas? and the connecting rod for the two face vents (between face vent dampers on heater core/blower) is missing a clip to keep it on the drivers side damper. (the clip that holds the ring on the end of the connecting rod from popping up off the damper and not moving it)
