I'll vote for phoneys since you can clear the snow off of the inner rims easier through the phone dial holes.

I've run both over the years, no difference as far as I'm concerned.
I've found good snow tires and 200 pounds of salt placed over the rear axle works well in the snow. I store my water softener salt there.
