944 turbo head gasket

In reading through a pile of past reciepts for my car, Ive found that a 944 turbo head gasket was put in. Why would they do this? Is it a slimmer gasket for more compression? or is it just stronger?

No body has any clue or resource about difference between the 944 turbo gasket and the NA??
