Hey all, I have a project 931. I have a lead on a motor, which I am interested in getting. I believe it's a k-jet motor out of a 931, but I have some photos here that I'm hoping you all can look at to help me confirm that it is indeed a 931 motor. It looks very similar to mine, but it's missing the turbo piping that goes over the valve cover.

I'm hoping this is a genuine 931 motor. Please let me know if so, and it would be very interesting to know the clues that led you to determining wether it is or is not...

Thanks!

Matt

Yes I believe it is..

I recognise the black pipe for the AAV.
Has updated breather to the front of the head.
Coolant bleeder is on the housing..
Bracket on the TB for the turbo charge tube.

Looks like a 79-80 Turbo engine to me..

If injectors AND spark plugs are on the inlet side = turbo head.
Throttle body is oval so thus it points to a Series 1 = <'81.
Thus engine block number should start with # 3102.......... for USA.

This is all really great information thank you! I just got the car (80 931) and I'm glad it's the same year engine, because I believe changes were made in 81?

Thank you everyone, this has helped a lot
