I'm about to embark on testing the compression in my 1987 924s and am wondering what kind of numbers I should see. The 944 workshop manual (which is what is returned when I search online) suggests that any value of 145 psi or more is what I should expect. Knowing the compression ratio is different for the 924s is it reasonable to see such numbers or should I be looking for something else?
Thanks everyone. _________________ World's worst welder. |

Yes! Anything over 145 psi is fine for a 924S. My 1987 924S engine right before I pulled it put out to swap in the 951 engine was 175, 182, 180, 175. That said, I wouldn't expect those numbers since that engine was modified, but if you are only getting 145 psi it would imply a worn engine.
I hope that helps! _________________ '84 944 -White, Brown interior
