My PO removed the windows, and I have reinstalled them on both sides.

I tested the regulator motors with a 12V power source, and they go up and down beautifully using it; however, when I connected them to the car's wiring, I can't get them to operate using the window switches.

There are two wires, a blue and a blue with a black stripe, and I think that they are connected correctly. I changed the fuse on the secondary fuse block, but can't get any power to run the windows.

Any suggestions on how to track down my problem?

Thanks

I'd jumper the connector at the switch to rule out (frequently) bad switches.

Check your ignition switch.
I have intermittent problems with my radio and power windows not working.
I can jiggle the key and bring them both back.

OK, dumb question. There are 5 pins on the window switch connector.

Which ones do I jump, or is it trial & error?

Clarks garage has a good page on repair of the electric windows with schematics and a switch repair tutorial (that was one of the troubles with mine).

Here is a link to the main page.

http://www.clarks-garage.com/

Firefox doesn't seem to want to copy the URL for the specific page.

Thanks for the lead.

I checked the Clark's page, and it mentions a power window relay. I understand that his info is for the 944, which is not always the same as the 924.

Does the 924 have a power window relay? If so, where is it located in the car?

Have you got a shop manual? You might find one handy in situations like this.

I have been using the Haynes guide with mixed results.

I found some workshop manuals online, and will be perusing them soon...

On my 1988 924S, both windows are linked. Meaning that if one does not work, nor will the other. So I had an issue with my drivers side window, which was causing my passenger side window not to work either. This could be very deceiving as you might think you are chasing down two different issues, when in fact it is one issue. Maybe yours is like this too.
Also your windows switch might have the metal contact wrong. Pop off the rocker switch and see if they are correct. If they are not correctly positioned then your switch will not work. I think this pic got it right:
I am not a windows expert but I hope this helps you out.
