Made 924 Carrera GTS replica tach/boost gauge out of 924S/944 tach with MPG gauge. Porsche also used same hardware, just different electronics and faceplate. I had the custom backround made and printed onto UV resistant matte surface. Later may do it properly with silkscreen print.

I used 911 speedo needle (it is longer on the opposite side and matches 924S MPG gauge needle better than original needle).

That is *way* cool!

How did you do the boost sensing part?

I left it like it is, VEMS is controlling the needle. But lot is ahead, I want to get it working with original MPG hardware, last resort is to use separate 924 tach circuitry outside of the tach housing (bulky and not so elegant solution).

Way cool, i'd love one like that but to work without VEMS
I made a speedo that fits inside the 924 dash and looks like the 924 one but uses the 944 gearbox sensor instead.

Was planning to use that early tacho to try to fit a boost gauge and do a GTS replica tacho but you beat me to it

Glad you got it to work, it's been a year since you received it, I was beginning to wonder...

I focused on it again about a month ago after I had other priorities during winter

Thanks Paul!

I use regular low level output which just has 1k pullup to 12v, it is already built inside ECU.

You can just use some 1k resistor and connect it between tach wire and 12v, should work.

My good friend designed and drawed it (he is a designer my profession), I just gave him 924S tach for dimensions and sent GTS tach photo and purchased the font used on these tachs (that cost ~20 euros).

When the vector drawing was finished I contacted another friend of mine who works in advertising company and she printed the dials on matte UV resistant sticker.

I will probably make a new set with a bit smaller numbers and when I am satisfied maybe will print it on the spare 944 tach face in silkscreen print like original.
